Sir Hummus – Food – Leisure

One of my favorite foods of this moment is Hummus. It is a very tasteful product and it seems to be very healthy. It contains chickpeas, chickpeas are packed with fibers which is good for the digestion. Through the fibers, the sugar levels fluctuate less and therefore these peas are good for diabetics. The peas also contain a lot of iron which is important for the production of hemoglobin. That provides the oxygen transport in your bloodstream and is also good for your metabolism.
Chickpeas are also high in proteins. Those are needed to build up muscle strength. In the chickpea you can also find zinc, a mineral which is also good for the metabolism. Zinc is important for growth and development in your body and provides a good immune system.
Because there are relatively few calories in chickpeas are, it is a suitable dish for people who want to lose weight. Chickpeas (and also other legumes) give a saturated feeling. so you they will help you from grabbing an unhealthy snack.

You can buy hummus at the supermarket our make it yourself but I am very curious for the restaurant Sir Hummus.  Guy en Dori come from Israel. In holland they could not find a place to eat a tasteful meal with good hummus so they decided to start a place themselves. Guy has been working for 10 years at the best hummus: first he opened a shop in London, now in Amsterdam. . In a corner building at the Pijp, they have their restaurant with lots of Windows, a handmade wooden bar and collected and selfmade furniture.

Here you get a plate of hummus so not not as a dip. Fresh hummus with a topping of roasted chicken or slow cooked beef and pieces of pita … I know where I am going to eat when I visit Amsterdam again!
